Maureen McGinn is the tenth of twelve children, raised Irish Catholic, and shaped early by family, faith, and resilience. She has been a member of Mile Hi Church since 2016 and became a Licensed Practitioner there in August 2023. Maureen is the proud mother of two adult children, Sarah (27), who lives in Taos, New Mexico, and Kevin (25) who lives in Lakewood. Colorado. She is also a devoted grandmother to two grandsons, Ozi (3) and Ezra (5 months), whom she absolutely adores.

Maureen’s life took a profound spiritual turn sixteen years ago. Her sobriety date is December 7, and it was during a moment of deep crisis — when her daughter, at age eleven, stopped her from ending her life — that Maureen experienced a true spiritual awakening. In that moment, she knew she was meant to live, to love more fully, and to be of service to the Universe. She went on to work for many years in the addiction industry, specializing in outreach and helping people connect with resources, healing, and hope.

In Spring 2024, Maureen began ministerial school with Centers for Spiritual Living and anticipates a focused ministry in healing work, death and dying support, and prison ministry. That same year, following the clear guidance of Spirit, she moved to Cuenca, Ecuador — a stunning city nestled in a bowl of mountains with four rivers flowing through it. Her beloved dog, Kramer, and her four cats made the journey with her. Maureen spends her mornings walking Kramer along the Yanuncay River, exercising, and beginning each day with meditation and inspirational reading. A lifelong lover of movement, she has completed fourteen triathlons during her sober journey and continues to bike, swim, practice yoga, and power walk.

In December, Maureen was diagnosed with sarcoma cancer. After two surgeries, she is now recovering and deeply anchored in the knowing that the cancer is gone and that she is firmly on a healing path. She will be returning to the United States at the end of February and relocating to Taos, New Mexico, where she looks forward to growing older near her children and grandsons. A lover of nature, spiritual practice, service, and laughter, Maureen lives with a deep commitment to love, healing, and joy — and she laughs often and freely!
